Auto LED Lighting

Auto LED lighting  provides advantages over regular auto lamps.  These day more and more vehicle owners are fitting out the cars, bikes or trucks with LED lighting – or are purchasing their vehicles already fitted.
These reasons are many fold, firstly, LED lights use less energy while producing less heat, and they offer a brighter illumination. Importantly, LED lights are more durable and cost less over the long run.

LED lights use less Energy Efficiency

LED lights use less energy than conventional bulbs and are about 85 percent more efficient than incandescents. That’s because it doesn’t take a lot of heat energy to start the process that makes the electrons emit light, unlike incandescent bulbs that actually waste a lot of heat. A standard LED light bulb uses anywhere from 65 kilowatt-hours of electricity in a single year, compared to incandescents, which can use up to 525 kilowatt-hours in one year.

LED lights Brighter Illumination

LED lights provide brighter illumination, at a fraction of the electricity cost. Incandescent bulbs are rated at about 14 lumens-per-watt (lm/W) while LEDs average to about 57 lm/W. However, LED lights don’t just give off more light, they do it more efficiently. LED lights are directional, meaning the light can be pointed toward certain directions. Other types of lights often waste a lot of illumination because they are omnidirectional or they give off light in all directions. Aside from being brighter, LED lights are also much more responsive and light up faster than other types of lights, which is a definite advantage, especially when using them as brake lights..

LED lights Durability

LED lights durability are second to none because they use diodes (usually small chips inside an epoxy resin) instead of filaments, which can burn out or explode. The diodes are usually encased in a plastic shell and can stand up to shock, vibration, and even extreme hot or cold temperatures. They also don’t contain any gases or chemicals that can be harmful to living things.

LED Lights Low Heat

Led lights have low heat in fact about 90 percent of the energy used by incandescent bulbs is transformed into heat, which is often wasted. LEDs stay cool to the touch because these types of bulbs produce very little heat, about 3.4 British Thermal Units (BTU) per hour, compared to incandescent bulbs, which produce about 80 BTUs. That makes them quite safe and car owners don’t have to worry about the bulbs exploding and causing fires.

LED lights Cost

LED lights cost more than other types of bulbs. However, when taking into account several other factors, LED lights can cost just as much or even less than regular bulbs. As mentioned earlier, these lights use up less electricity, which puts less strain on the car’s battery. Additionally, LED lights have very long lives. Some lights can last up to 30,000 hours, which is more than thirty years and well beyond the lifetime of an average car.
